To make sure you're getting the most out of your Lola & Lamar bikini, we've put together some eco-friendly ways to help care for your swimwear, so you can swim in style, season after season.
Handwashing is really the only way to wash bikinis. Not only is the better for the environment, but it will guarantee your Lola & Lamar bikini retains it's colour, shape and life. To wash your bikini take it into the shower with you after the beach or pool and rinse under cold running water, even if you've only been laying out, to remove salt, oils and/or dirt.
Air drying is environmentally friendly and the perfect way too refresh your bikini. To dry it, lay it flat between two towels and roll it to gently squeeze out water, or simply lay it flat on a clean surface away from direct sunlight. Remember to make sure it's not on a rough surface.
Make sure to apply sunscreen, lotions and tanning oils at least 15 minutes before you put your bikini on so they're totally absorbed, only by your skin. If you do get marks on your swimwear you can use a natural, biodegradable soap like Dr. Bronner's to spot clean.
Spandex is a memory fabric and the key to making your swimwear last longer it to give it 24 hours to completely dry and snap back to shape before wearing again. If you're on vacation, invest in a few different styles to mix and match!
Your bikini is ready for storage when it's been washed and is completely dry. Don't keep it in an airtight container or bag because mildew may develop if there's any moisture in the fibers.
