SUSTAINABILITY
OUR COMMITMENT
FABRICS
PRODUCTION
Small quantities = less waste.
We don't mass produce our suits, limiting any possible dead-stock fabric and unsold finished garments. This is in part to ensure we do our best to to help decrease overproduction in the fashion industry on both a brand and consumer level.
Any pieces that are not suitable for sale are not discarded. We allow our customers to purchase from our sample sale and any excess stock is donated to our team or local charities.
Our swimwear is made in Bali, Indonesia, and it is our goal to support the garment industry in this beautiful country and its talented local artisans. Our factory employs local staff and, as a brand who values ethical work practices, we ensure our manufacturing team work and construct our garments in a safe, positive and ethical environment. Through internationally recognised certification and auditing framework, we can ensure all our suppliers are in line with the values of our brand.
PACKAGING
100% of all Lola & Lamar orders now travel from our headquarters to you in sustainably sourced paper mailers. These mailers are recyclable, biodegradable, plastic free and manufactured entirely carbon neutrally. The packaging your bikini comes in is recyclable and done as minimal and efficiently as possible. We also operate with a minimal paper printing policy and try our best to limit any unnecessary stationery, like tissue paper.
WASTE REDUCTION
We are committed to limited our social and environmental impacts not only through the above methods, but on a more direct, daily basis in our headquarters. We choose lower impact materials and processes and our own in-house recycling practices ensure less waste in transferred to landfill. With increased importance placed on localised production and operations, we limit our carbon footprint.
HONOURING THE PLANET
We are a proud member of Ecologi and commit to donating a portion of every sale toward planting trees to help cultivate eco-systems. For each order placed, a tree is planted through their partner The Eden Reforestation Projects. Learn more here.
We are not perfect, however, we do pride ourselves on choosing the most sustainable options where possible and we believe it is the collective shift towards change that makes the biggest impact overall. In continuation of our efforts, Lola & Lamar promises to work everyday to learn, research and develop materials, products and practices that are not only ethical but limit our impact on the planet.
